Interview with Camile Depew and Coach Adam la Serna : 5-20-09

Depew finishes season with a 0.465 batting average and All Conference Player Award

serna: Congratulations on the All Conference Player Award. Wow, 9 homeruns on the season too.depew: I am happy I got the award and already looking forward to next season. serna:Where do you see yourself after CC. depew:I definitely want to go D-1. No idea though where. By the way how is your Academy doing? serna: Well, I have an Indoor Fastpitch Center in Tacoma and run 4 Pitching and Hitting Clinics and several Club Team and High School Team Camps per week. depew: I would like to see the new Tacoma Facility sometime. serna: I could use your assistance again this Summer if you can help with pitching and hitting?depew: I'm excited! I will be pitching alot next season at SCC. Can you brush me up again?serna: How about this weekend, I can arrange the D-1 catcher from Rutgers U to catch for you, remember Kylee, she was Kelli Bornander's catcher, they may be playing 23u together this summer? depew:Regarding D-1, what position do you think I should try out for? serna: You have cannon for an arm, any outfield position. depew: You know I played Center Field this season? I loved it! serna: Yes, as one of your biggest fans, I know you did. And you did well enough to make All Conference. depew:I won’t forget that. I do know someone at UW who is a freshman playing Center Field now as a lefty. serna:UW had some great lefties for catcher and you have a ton of experience at the 4 spot. You also have pitching experience to add to the balance between pitcher/catcher communication during game-time. You can always tryout. I know you will do your best when that time comes. See you this weekend.
